Mobile Application Developer

Position summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Application Developer to join our growing team of developers willing to help build new and maintain / enhance existing mobile application.  Work with many phases of the software development lifecycle including technical research, requirements analysis, technical design, as well as implementation of enhancements, unit testing, debugging and maintenance in .NET / C# and Xamarin environments. The selected candidate will work closely with our architects and product owners to devise a scalable plan that meets the business needs of the requested solutions.  Perform work responsibilities and respond appropriately to the urgency of situations inside and outside of standard business hours.  This role will share time across multiple platforms developing externally facing MVC based web applications deployed in iOS and Android.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance programs according to Business Requirements / User Stories
• Develop mobile applications utilizing the C# and Xamarin platforms
• Research, design, and writing of software to specifications, either individually or as part of a team of other developers
• Complete projects/tasks on a timely basis, according to commitments made to stakeholders and management
• Report project/task status to the appropriate Application Development Manager on a weekly basis
• Collaborate with product owners, other developers and architects/team leads (when appropriate) to determine optimal solution architecture, efficiency, maintainability, and scalability
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Develop unit test plans, ensure software coding standards and quality are achieved, and validate that business goals are accomplished
• Fully document all changes within code and ticket tracking system
• Assists with application maintenance by monitoring and correcting software defects
• Present weekly progress updates in the form of a demo to stakeholders
• Present best practice and new technology ideas to the team and direct manager for consideration

You will be a person who has / is:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 3 – 5 years C# working experience
• Experience optimizing memory and space usage
• Object Oriented Design/Programming
• XML / XSLT knowledge
• 2 – 3 years of development experience in Mobile technologies (Xamarin, Xamarin.Forms, MVVM, iOS, Android)
• Very good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven knowledge in all stages of the software development life cycle
• Proficient knowledge of code versioning tools {such as GIT}
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving capabilities
• Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others and set a positive example
• The ability to support department goals that align with current and future Company objectives and initiatives
• Strong organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignment simultaneously
• Excellent written and spoken English
