Looking to expand our team, we are in search for an experienced, passionate and creative Social Media Manager.
Details about the position: The Social Media Manager will administer our partner social media accounts to promote news items and bring readership and viewers to their powerful, independent reporting. They will be building a social media community and making contacts with possible new clients and partners.
Responsibilities:
- design and implement creative and engaging strategies to build a social media presence
- manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels
- monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms
- research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
- recommend improvements to increase performance
- manage a budget for social media activities
Skills needed / requirements:
- a solid understanding of the use of a range of social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook.
- strong copywriting and editing skills suitable for each platform, from knowing how to write a successful tweet to using effective storytelling techniques
- creative skills for contributing new and innovative ideas
- excellent team working, collaboration and networking skills
- project and campaign management skills
- fluency in English
- journalistic experience or knowledge of multiple languages is a plus
