Senior accountant
Tigo.mk is looking for an experienced Senior accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.
The Senior accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks and participation in month-end close process.
A successful Senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. The ideal candidate has also experience in collaborating with Junior/Senior Accountants and other departments.
This role will involve:
• Oversee accounting to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
• Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling accounting information
• Maintain accounting controls to assure accuracy and completeness
• Produce error-free accounting reports
• Manage cash flow by reviewing documents and authorization of payments
• Produce cash and cash forecast reports
• Working with other departments to manage budgets, expenditures, authorization of payments and submit cash flow report as requested
• Provide technical support on Head of Finance and Accounting
• Assist Head of Finance and accounting in conducting month-end and year-end close process
• Tax calculation and reporting to the tax authority
• Ensure compliance with local regulation (including tax regulation) and IFRS
The Ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Proven experience as a supervisor or similar position
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• In-depth understanding of local regulation and IFRS requirements
• Knowledge of financial statements
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Proficiency in English language
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-initiative and hands-on-approach
