Motivi Employments for its client, Butler America Telecom, is looking for a:
Senior Outside-Plant (OSP) Engineer/Drafter
The OSP engineer/drafter will perform all aspects of OSP engineering including Fiber to the home (FTTH) build design, these fiber builds will be located throughout the USA.
OSP engineer will also need to be familiar with permitting for township, city, county, state, and specialty permits including railroad and wetlands. In general, they will download a form from the relevant permit authority’s website, or complete an online version, with each having different requirements and levels of detail needed.
Responsibilities:
- Training the team of potential drafters on using AutoCAD to produce construction and/or permitting prints.
- Receiving field notes from our field teams and translating these into the construction/permitting prints.
- Working with the field engineering team as needed to ensure that accurate designs are being drafted. They will have to familiarize themselves with US engineering practices at the township, city, county, and state levels.
- Draft as needed, and oversee the drafting team, performing QC on their prints before delivery to the onshore OSP Engineering Manager, who will then review the prints and return for any changes.
- Understanding field notes and OSP Engineering in order to ensure that the drafting team is correctly completing their prints.
Qualifications/Experience
- Be very familiar with using AutoCAD to create construction and/or permitting prints from provided field notes.
- Be experienced with FTTH and MDU engineering/builds and able to own a job from assignment to completion.
- Be very familiar with telecommunications infrastructure such as underground & aerial fiber optic installations.
- Self-motivated and managed, a self-starter and accountable to aggressive timelines and deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
