Job Description:
As a Dispatcher at TAG Trans, you will play a crucial role in our operations by coordinating and optimizing the movement of our fleet of trucks. You will be the primary point of contact between our drivers, customers, and management team, ensuring seamless communication and efficiency in our day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assign and schedule drivers for delivery routes, considering factors such as load capacity, distance, and driver availability.
- Monitor and track the progress of deliveries to ensure timely arrivals.
- Address and resolve any route delays, breakdowns, or other operational issues that may arise.
- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and updates.
- Interact with customers and address any inquiries or concerns related to deliveries.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize delivery routes and reduce transportation costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatching activities and relevant documentation.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for drivers and adhere to all safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics/transportation role.
- Experience in dispatching Reefer is a must!
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and tracking software is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations and best practices.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick, informed decisions.
