We are recruiting an experienced Front-end Team Leader (Remote) to join our client's company - an industry leader in a very exciting industry.
Our client is one of the top 10 fastest growing Estonian startups and their main product helps other companies scale faster with software that provides virtual browser profiles, eliminating the need for multiple computers, VPS servers, virtual machines, or other time-consuming solutions.
They are looking for a professional who is motivated to continuously drive their Front-end Team forward and accelerate their Engineering Organization from Good to Great in 2021 onwards! This position is an optimal blend of leadership and product development.
In this role you would be:
- Leading the Front-end Team,
- Planning for human resources, conducting interviews and leading overall hiring processes, networking and maintaining continuous relationships with external talent, making not-so-easy decisions for your team members if/when needed,
- Be responsible for both leading your team (more than %20 of time) and product software development (more than %50 of time),
- People management: Hiring, leading by examples and good management practices, and developing internal talent through performance reviews, coaching, frequently providing positive and developmental feedback and course correction,
- Leading exploration, architecture, development through feature teams approach till the final product release of the features you own,
- Leading engineers supporting product manager in defining stories, planning the roadmap, and prioritizing tasks,
- Be a Subject Matter Expert for our main technologies and act as a go-to-person within the team,
- Engaging and improving our engineering culture by driving team strengthening activities, cross-team projects, and knowledge sharing sessions,
- Educating members of your team as well as members of other teams in our business (including recording videos for internal consumption!),
- Planning, coordinating, and monitoring bi-weekly engineering projects and tasks,
- Making sure the team progresses according to the roadmap,
- Deciding, aligning, and communicating engineering priorities to the team members,
- Finding roadmap inconsistencies, managing dependencies, helping everybody to work more efficiently, and keeping the focus on most important priorities,
- Talking to customers as and when needed,
- Working hands-on: coding by best practice and ensure a high code quality
You’d be a good fit if you have:
- At least 2 years of proven experience as Engineering Team Lead, working with product engineering teams,
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in software development, including architecture definition and design of server-client applications,
- Expert in JavaScript and at at least one of the following frameworks: Angular, React, Vue,
- Experience with microservices and distributed systems,
- A strongly goal-oriented, pragmatic way of working and a good business sense,
- Demanding and motivating spirit, sense of urgency,
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, strength in mentoring,
- Client focused,
- Excellent language skills in English,
- Experience and confidence working remotely and independently as well as collaborating with distributed team members on asynchronous communications
