You are going to be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications, your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

 

You are responsible for

  • Developing native Android applications and have an understanding of Android design patterns, memory management, file I/O, concurrency and multithreading
  • Working with network & battery optimizations, APIs, external libs, sdks, Analytics, UI, visualizations & animations
  • Unit Testing and TDD practices with usage of Junit/Mockito/Espresso kind of test frameworks
  • Publishing applications in an Android marketplace, help in the process of making the app live
  • Able to fix occurring bugs and iteratively improve the app, include newer features and keep the app up to date with all the Android updates / libraries that will be released
  • Scanning for new upcoming technologies and be able to evaluate and implement the same to enhance the development efficiency
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical requirements
  • Experience of working on applications with react native is a plus
  • Ability to create and maintain continuous integration and delivery is a plus

Ambulatory Monitoring & Diagnostics (AM&D) is part of the Philips Connected Care business cluster. Philips BioTelemetry is part of the AM&D business and provides remote cardiac monitoring services for more than one million patients per year. Philips acquired BioTelemetry in early 2021. The combination of Philips and BioTelemetry results in a global leader in patient care management solutions for the hospital and the home, a leading U.S.-based provider of remote cardiac diagnostics and monitoring.

 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA or equivalent qualification or relevant working experience on similar position  
  • Experience with Android Java-based mobile applications and systems development
  • Strong command on Android Java and exposure towards Android SDK
  • Strong knowledge of various packages on the Android App development stack layouts, intents, widgets, content providers, touch handling, drawing, location services, media interfaces, network, storage, security / cryptography, sqlite, etc.
  • Knowledge of web services and serialization techniques like REST, SOAP, XML, JSON & framing
  • Strong penchant for Object Oriented Design and CS fundamentals
  • Experience of working with version control, bug tracking, continuous integration and other productivity enhancement software like TFS, Bugzilla, Jira etc.
  • Prior experience in working in Agile software methodologies would be a plus
  • Taking responsibility and ownership in teamwork, team player with good communication skills
