JOB POSITION. SYSADMIN AND SUPPORT
POINT 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The position is that of Linux systems administration technician for a company that is dedicated to domain registration, hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Cloud and Web Clusters.
The candidate with organizational and planning skills is required, with good stress management and with a proactive, motivated and committed character with the project. We are looking for a candidate who wants to grow within the company, who considers the project as a long-term project, since the potential of the group's brands is great and will be invested in training (by the company).
He must perform server virtualization tasks using PROXMOX, always looking for the optimization of infrastructure costs.
You must support the end user, since the company works both in B2C and B2B. User support is specified in the resolution of incidents, email adjustments, migrations, optimizations and securing servers.
You will be given total freedom for the development of projects within the company, projects that help to improve the automation of processes, the user experience, the improvement in the shopping experience and the updates and implementations.
Therefore, it is necessary to know how to manage a planning of actions to optimize the infrastructure and improve security, in addition to controlling and managing the integration of APIs with domain registrars.
Mainly it will work with the management panels of the cPanel, Plesk and ISPconfig panels and as an internal panel, with the administration control panel (WHMCS and Hostbill).
Possibility of teleworking some days of the week. Flexible hours, productivity incentives and bonuses if goals are reached.
POINT 2. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum studies: Higher Degree in Systems and Network Administration
- Minimum experience: At least 1 year
- Required languages: English (Spanish is a plus)
- Necessary knowledge:
- Hosting systems
- Linux systems administration
- WHMCS
- cPanel, Plesk and ISPconfig
- Process automation
- Virtualization
- Knowledge of the domain sector and web hosting.
- Experience in managing cPanel, Plesk and WHM panels.
- Knowledge of virtualization and migration of web content and emails between servers.
POINT 3. MAIN FUNCTIONS
Systems administration and support for a company focused on shared hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Cloud and Web Clusters. Server virtualization in Proxmox. Infrastructure cost optimization. User support and issues resolution in the B2C and B2B environment. Project development. Planning of actions to optimize the infrastructure and improve security. API integration with domain registrars. Managing User Control Panel (cPanel + Plesk) and Administration Control Panel (WHMCS and Hostbill)
POINT 4. ACTIONS TO DO ACCORIDNG THE CANDIDATE LEVEL
The following actions must be done in your daily work, according the following levels:
Point 4.1.- Level 1 - Basic Support.
- Ticket control, answering all the tickets in less than an hour from 09:00 to 18:00 from Monday to Friday, once before 20:00, once at 10:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, and once at 20:00 in Saturdays and Sundays.
- Basic support like email configuration, Outlook/thunderbird configuration, DNS changes.
- Unlock IP's
- cPanel and Plesk basic functions: add email accounts, add storage space on a single account, etc.
- Install and manage SSL: Let's encrypt through cPanel functions and SSL installation from external providers, like Geotrust, Comodo or similar.
- Spam control through cPanel and Plesk control panels.
- Domain management: contact information, contact changes, auth codes, basic billing control (ensure there's enough funds on each provider to keep the services ok).
- License control: to know exactly which licenses are in use, which ones can be deleted, and when the license must be paid.
- Hosting and migrations from external providers to our platform. Form shared hosting to shared hosting, or to VPS or dedicated server.
- Basic CMS support: Database connections in Wordpress, and the most common issues in CMS.
- Documentation of all the incidences, support tickets to have all the templates, and support procedures.
- API integration for WHMCS and Hostbill: modules, registrars APIs, and modules like PROXMOX module for WHMCS or CRM for WHMCS.
Point 4.2.- Level 2 - Advanced Support and SYSadmin.
- All the functions included in Level 1 - Basic Support
- Extend knowledge of cPanel, Plesk and ISPconfig control panels.
- Check the servers providers to see RAM, CPU and storage, to control resources consumption: monitoring systems, 24x7 alerts.
- Cost optimization: to have a plan to pay only for what we are using at each moment. Try to reduce the licenses costs in all the tech fields.
- Migration processes: APIs, crons, scripts. From VPS to VPS, VPS to Dedicated, Dedicated to VPS.
- Cloud knowledge: how to create and maintain a cloud server
- Cluster knowledge: how to create and maintain a Cluster server.
- CMS optimization: tools to increase the performance of CMS in our servers.
- Market analysis: to know what's better in each situation, knowing what the big providers are doing or betting to.
POINT 5. FINAL DETAILS
- Personnel in charge: 2
- Vacancy positions: 1
- Contract period: 6 months + 6 months + indefinite.
- Schedule 09:00 - 18:00 CET from Monday to Friday. SYSadmin guards from Monday to Sunday (only if it’s necessary).
