Hardware and VMware Maintenance Support (EPO)

We are recruiting a Hardware and VMware Maintenance Support should be for work for our Customer (EPO) from our off-site office in Skopje.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and configure various components on hardware infrastructure using OneView GUI and PowerShell scripting:
  • Configuration of blade servers, blade enclosures and logical enclosures
  • Configuration of virtual connect modules, logical interconnects
  • Network configuration modifications for blade servers
  • FC configuration modifications for blade servers and FC enclosures internal switches
  • Demonstrate ability to use OneView and Global dashboard elements
  • Write a hardware software upgrade plan for HPE blade server infrastructure
  • Write and explain an HPE blade enclosure network connectivity migration and / or upgrade
• Perform end to end provisioning including the appropriate entries in the CMDB of a fully patched and functional Windows virtual Server using an OS image
• Perform end to end provisioning including the appropriate entries in the CMDB of a fully patched and functional LINUX virtual Server using an OS image
• Perform end to end provisioning including the appropriate entries in the CMDB of a fully patched and functional ESXi host using VMware Auto-Deploy
• Perform migration of test VMs using utilising various methods (e.g. storage vMotion, etc…)
• Perform end to end provisioning including the appropriate entries in the CMDB of a fully patched and functional Windows Workstation. (Windows 7 and Horizon VDI)
• Provision of a VMware based Capacity and Resource report, showing current storage allocations to all virtual machines distinguishing between Windows and Linux servers with identification of any potential bottlenecks.
• Provision of a VMware based monitoring with subsequent report for the storage path status on VMware hosts and the network port status and traffic on the VMware distributed virtual switch.
• Demonstrate implementation of SRM protection for few VMs using various configurations
• Use of vRealize Log lnsight (vRLi) and vRealize Operations Manager (vROPs), especially with respect to alarms resolution and report generation.
• Use of IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments.

Profile:

• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• VMware Certified Professional certification (VCP6 or VCP7)
• vCenter in HA configuration and advanced linked mode
• vSphere Auto Deploy
• vRealize Operations (vROps) in HA set-up with scaled out remote collectors, data and masternodes.
• Site Recovery Manager (SRM) including Storage Replication Adapters (SRAs) for array based replication as well as vSphere replication
• vRealize Log Insight (vRLI) in HA set-up with data replication across multiple geo sites.
• Systems Administrator level understanding of Linux Operating System
• Very good working knowledge of Powershell / PowerCLI
• Good knowledge of at least one of the following automation tools: vRealize Automation, Ansible, Terraform
• Must hold an up to date HPE Synergy Administration certification and experience with:
  • HPE Synergy Configuration and Cabling ( Configuring hardware - HPE Synergy cabling)
  • ILT Cabling and Hardware Setup (Interconnect link topology)
  • Configuring Storage (Configuring connectivity in HPE OneView)
  • Working with HPE OneView for Synergy (Configuring connectivity in HPE OneView)
  • Working with Server Profiles (Resource action menus - Security features)
• HPE Synergy Management and Troubleshooting:
  • Troubleshooting upon Hardware Setup
  • Backup and restore
  • Frame numbering and naming conventions
  • Support dumps
  • CLI connectivity and login methods – Access to components from the HPE Synergy console
• HPE Synergy Scaling
• HPE Synergy Firmware Update Best Practices
  • Introduction to firmware update methods
  • Firmware updates of HPE Synergy components
    • Management appliances firmware update
    • Shared infrastructure firmware update
    • Synergy VC fabric interconnect firmware updates
    • Compute module firmware update
• Firmware compliance and reporting
• HPE Synergy Remote Support and Monitoring (Enabling & disabling Remote Support – HPE OneView Global Dashboard
• IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments
• Fluent in English; knowledge of another language is an asset
