Network Security Consultant

The Role

The main duties of this position will be the deployment, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting of Fortinet Firewalls. You will also be working with a range of other firewalls, intrusion detection systems and security alerting systems. As well as providing end user support and working with external clients.

In this role boredom will be non-existent with the variety of tasks and challenges presented. 

Additionally, we will be keen to support your future development with opportunities to progress internally and supporting you by funding training courses and relevant certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and support internal and externals network and security platforms.
• Supporting client services in pre-sales customer facing activities, providing high quality technical design and proposal documentation.
• Installation and deployment of security technologies
• Firewall Configuration, administration and log
• Monitoring of Firewalls, intrusion detection systems and security alerting systems.
• Providing assistance and support to customers

Experience we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have worked with Fortinet products previously, but other vendor experience and a desire to learn is sufficient. Additionally, you will have experience of:

Required Experience

• Experience working with either Fortinet, Juniper, Checkpoint or SonicWall firewalls.
• Good knowledge of networking protocols
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Experience with IDS/IPS systems
• Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and be able to troubleshoot connectivity issues using Wireshark/Tcp dump
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a network security role.

Desirable Experience

• Relevant Fortinet Certification
• Experience with web application firewalls
• Networking or security certification (CCNA, CCNP, Security+, Network+ etc)
• Prior experience in a consultancy role or working on client site.
