NOVA International School is the leading co-educational, English medium day school with educational programs ranging from PK to Grade 12. The school was established in 1997 to offer exceptional opportunities for growth and development to children of expatriates and local families residing in Skopje. On behalf of our client, DEKRA is looking for:

  • BUSINESS MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Manager is responsible for all non-teaching activities, including finance, operations, facilities, security, transportation, and legal/human resources.

  • Finances, Budgeting and Accounting:
    • Oversee all accounting and financial activities including management reporting, statutory reporting, tax reporting &payments, internal control;
    • Prepare annual budget and budget forecast, in line with the school’s strategic plan;
    • Prepare annual income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement according to local regulations;
    • Oversee annual external audit, and prepare monthly, quarterly, semesterly and annual reports and financial dashboard based on Key Performance Indicators;
    • Works closely with the admission team and School Accounts coordinator in supporting enrolment efforts and overseeing insurance of tuition contract and enrolment deposit;
    • Prepare the annual US State Department Grant report (GRASP). Submit annual grant reimbursement request, annual grant report.
  • HR/Legal Management
    • Assist in the preparation of all legal contract and amendments with employees in coordination with the HR Manager;
    • Prepare all contract with major vendors, suppliers, consultants; Review all contract to be and make use of legal assistance when is needed;
    • Manage HR database, salary pay scales and monthly payroll calculations for all employees in coordination with HR Manager;
    • Participate in recruitment and hiring processes in coordination with Director, HR Manager and Division Principals;
    • Develop and maintain insurance coverage (property, liability, health and accident) minimizing potential school liability.
  • Facilities Management
    • Oversee the work of the Facilities Manager and IT department;
    • Create a schedule of regular evaluation of facilities and ensure that all equipment, facilities, and systems are working properly;
    • Work with the US Embassy RSO to ensure the highest safety standards in regards to physical and technical security solutions;
    • Oversee the maintenance of accurate records on the condition of all hardware systems (servers, Wi-Fi network, PA system, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, electricity, HVAC, solar panels, etc.);
    • As a member of the Crisis Management team, conduct security inspections and run safety drills in coordination with the Security Coordinator.
  • Leadership and Strategy
    • Attend leadership and NAB meetings to contribute to finance, operational and strategic decision making;
    • Plan and manage change in accordance with the school development/ strategic plan, including the coordination of information flow process and decision between offices in administration, assisted by the Communication and Development Coordinator;
    • Evaluate the performance of the ICT Coordinator, Accounting/ Business office staff, Administration Staff, Fees and Budgets and School Accounts Coordinator, Facilities Manager and Security Coordinator;
    • Assist in the formulation and implementation of the school strategic plan, master plan, business plan;
    • Responsible for contributing to the following governance documentation: student Parent Handbook, Faculty and Staff Handbook, Overseas HR Handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree required (Business/ finance/ accounting or equivalent); Master’s degree or MBA preferred;
  • 5+ years’ experience in the fields of management, accounting and business operations, minimum several years at supervisory level;
  • Expert knowledge of accounting, financial principles, ability to apply them in business setting;
  • Experience in managing  mid-sized organizations, with a preference in the areas of education, finance/banking, hospitality and in an non-profit international setting;
  • Experience in the legal realm, formulating contracts and agreements will be advantage.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Highly technologically proficient, with a mastery of written and spoken English language;
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong team-building, analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills.
