For our client Lidl, German international discount supermarket chain that operates over 12,000 stores across Europe and the United States, we are looking for:
Health and Safety Project Manager
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for organizing and coordination of the activities for safety and health at work, as expert person for safety at work in accordance with the applicable Law;
- Consultancy and support of the employer and its representatives on the application of health and safety assurance requirements, and their implementation;
- Control, on employer’s behalf, for the compliance with the regulations and legal requirements, and on the obligations implementation by the employees;
- Preparation and up-to-date maintenance of internal company documentation in the field of health and safety at work;
- Establishment, maintenance and continuous improvement of an integrated company policy of prevention covering the organization of work, technologies, work places, operational equipment, and binding upon all participants in the operational activity;
- Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation
- Working with and training all employees to manage, monitor and improve the health and safety standards in the workplace
- Being responsible for all safety inspections in the workplace (for example, monitoring noise levels in a warehouse)
- Assisting with the creation and management of health and safety monitoring systems and policies in the workplace
- Managing emergency procedures
- Offering general health and safety advice to all employees
- Represents the employer in the field of health and safety at work before the Labor Inspectorate and its territorial divisions, as well as the other relevant state institutions, municipal services, and professional organizations in the field of safety and health at work, fire protection, etc..
Key Qualifications and competences:
- University degree – Technical Sciences, Health and Safety Management
- At least 4+ years of relevant experience in a similar position
- License for Occupational Safety Expert
- First aid training, fire protection, evacuation and rescue.
- Driven and motivated with a positive outlook, curious and able to solve problems
- Self-initiative and result oriented way of working
- Quality awareness and maintenance of work efficiency
- Delegation skills and monitoring the progress of delegated task
- Stress management skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- English language knowledge, German is a plus
- Confident with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Collaboration skills working across departments with colleagues with differing levels of knowledge and experience
- Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines
