For our client Lidl, German international discount supermarket chain that operates over 12,000 stores across Europe and the United States, we are looking for:

 

FINANCE / ACCOUNTING / TAX MANAGER

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation, coordination and control of annual financial statements in accordance with national commercial and tax law as well as ensuring legal disclosure obligations
  • Coordination of the local audit of the annual financial statements
  • Contact with authorities (ex. tax office, funding authorities), banks, auditors and tax consultants

Responsibility in the area of financial accounting

  • Cost accounting audit
  • Asset accounting
  • Billing of non-commercial goods incl. intercompany settlements on the basis of existing agency contracts

Responsibility in the area of goods accounting

  • Invoice verification of merchandise
  • Billing of refunds and returns
  • Stock valuation of merchandise

Responsibility in the area of finance

  • Financial reporting and planning
  • Cash management and efficient payment processing
  • Responsibility in the area of taxes
  • Compliance with tax obligations or exercise of rights in all sub-disciplines (indirect taxes, direct taxes, transfer pricing)
  • Ensuring compliance with tax requirements for system introductions or changes
  • Contact person for authorities in tax matters

Management tasks

  • Creating appropriate framework conditions (organizational, personal) to ensure the implementation of tasks and to achieve the goals on time
  • Ensuring a positive and motivating work atmosphere, smooth, effective, and efficient cooperation
  • Responsibility for the management and planning of resources and personnel, as well as the costs
  • Identifying potentials through standardized tools and promoting potentials
  • Building awareness among the employees regarding the importance of compliance with applicable laws and internal
  • Regulation

Professional Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory, Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in legal & compliance matters in a similar job role and leading a team
  • Solid English language knowledge, solid German language knowledge/German is considered a strong advantage
  • Results oriented person with entrepreneurial approach
  • Attention to details
  • Time management
