Assistant Management Accountant

The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for supporting month end duties, assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, accruals, prepayments, journal postings, assisting with the yearend audit and financial reporting, as well as other duties within this function. This person will work closely with agency leads to ensure clients are billed & revenue is recognized in a timely manner and according to international accounting standards. Working closely with the Management Accountant, this role will provide the knowledge/insight to enable the candidate to understand how to manage the month end process autonomously and develop the skills to prepare, examine and scrutinize Management Accounts independently.

Key responsibilities:

- Liaise with the Finance Operations Manager regarding the month-end checklist and ensure all information has been captured enabling the timely preparation of Management Accounts across the group

- Revenue Reconciliation- Arrange/lead regular catch ups with client leads to ensure the correct recognition of income in accordance with international accounting standards

- Manual Journals (Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Accrued Revenue)  Balance sheet reconciliations

- Intercompany Reconciliations

- Treasury activities – Facilitating payment runs for selected group entities as required

- Ad-hoc transactional input for where required – Including purchase/sales ledger input

- Assist Management Accountant/Financial Controller with ad-hoc reporting requirements 

Key Qualifications and competences:

- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or equivalent area of study (highly desired)

- 2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting role

- Friendly and upbeat personality1

- To do attitude

- Time management

- Problem-solving skills

- Conflict-resolution skills

- Experience in an international company is preferable

- Experience in assisting with monthly reporting (Management Accounts)

- Experience in posting Manual Journals (Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Accrued Revenue)

- Exceptional written and spoken English
