For this role, you will need to
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases focused on backend systems and APIs, ensuring flawless performance and integration.
- Conduct thorough testing of backend components and APIs, including functional, integration, and performance testing, using both manual and automated approaches.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to understand system architecture, API specifications, and data flows, ensuring effective testing coverage.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for backend testing, utilizing industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and ability to write and execute complex database queries.
- Implement test automation for critical use cases across backend systems
- Evaluate and document test plans, analyze, and identify opportunities for testing.
- Document and maintain manual and automated tests.
Ideally, you will also have
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Theoretical knowledge of various technology stacks related to testing (e.g., testing types, test levels, test techniques, and approaches)
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices for backend and API testing.
- Experience with test automation framework such as Postman
- Proficiency in Javascript/TypeScript, NodeJS, CSS, HTML, and Browser Developer tools
- Experience working in Agile methodologies and collaborating across multiple teams
- Great fundamentals in SQL, APIs, and experience with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
- Confidence to champion quality engineering and the communication skills to drive collaboration and adherence to best practices/standards.
- Experience with CI/CD integration tools.
- Experience with requirements analysis (story creation and Definition of Ready), defect tracking, coordinating with team members in different locations, and test reporting and signoff (Definition of Done)
