Allocate and R&D Summary:

Allocate Software has been designing innovative products to optimise complex organisations since 1991. We have taken expertise from a number of industries and applied this to the specific issues and complexity of healthcare. Today we focus on delivering software tools to help healthcare institutions manage their staff safely and efficiently so that they can deliver exceptional care to all their patients. We have customers in 11 countries, with greater than 2 million people deployed using our software in over 800 organisations. Our R&D function is a global function comprising in excess of 200 people with development centres across the United Kingdom, Macedonia, Sweden and Australia. R&D globally represents approx. one third of Allocate’s total headcount and has seen significant investment in recent years. Skopje is one of our primary development centres and a key pillar in our current and future strategy for engineering excellence. It currently houses in excess of 100 R&D staff members, with continued growth expected in the future.  

Role Summary:
The Release Coordinator will:

  • Be accountable for ensuring all component parts of a release are coordinated and brought together in a single release of a high quality and fit for purpose.
  • Work closely with all team members engaged in the release cycle across the business, notably R&D, Services, Customer
  • Success, Support, Documentation, Cloud team and ensure that each release meets the needs and expectations of the target audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and communicate the Release Plan for each release and seek approval from the release team, as early as possible in the release cycle.
  • Convene and chair release meetings where appropriate.
  • At all times, keep the wiki up-to-date with all release activities and communicate to stakeholders via other media as necessary.
  • Help to identify release risks and manage these risks/mitigations to completion through ongoing communication with all team members across the business.

Liaise with R&D team members:

  • On fault status and ensure VSTS is maintained appropriately by the teams.
  • To ensure regression environments are being managed and database requirements are met in a timely fashion.
  • To create regular build cycles.
  • Build excellent working relationships with all those engaged in any part of the release process.
  • Lead retrospectives across the release teams to ensure we continuously learn lessons and improve process.
  • Be a proactive team-member, fully engaged in the release process, helping to identify process improvement, better usage of tools, etc.
  • Working closely with the Documentation and Localisation Team to ensure readiness and alignment across Product Releases.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience Required:
Key skills required include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (both Macedonian and English).
  • Can demonstrate excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proactive working attitude.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the IT industry.
  • Understanding of the IT industry, preferably software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build excellent working relationships.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to set own goals and targets.
  • Capable of working in a high pressure environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with a methodical approach.
  • Quality-oriented and open-minded.
