About the Role:
The Financial Accountant and Controller for Liquiditas is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing financial insights for the Liquiditas Group of companies. Key responsibilities include recording and reconciling transactions, preparing financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting internal controls. This role plays a vital part in maintaining financial integrity, providing insights for decision-making, and facilitating the financial reporting process.
The position reports to the CEO of the Liquiditas Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and other financial transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements regularly to provide insights into the organization’s financial health.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and future projections to guide decision-making and financial planning.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing and filing tax returns, including profit tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes. Provide support during tax audits.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as needed to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
  • Fixed Assets: Maintain detailed records of fixed assets in the books.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll functions, including calculating wages, processing payroll deductions, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Financial Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
  • Payments, Collection, Banks, and Cash Management: Process and oversee the payment of the companies’ liabilities, Settlements with Clients (payments/collection, monitoring, daily
    reconciliations, and dispute solving), monitor cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and manage cash reserves to optimize liquidity and minimize financial risk.
  • Financial Planning and Strategy: Contribute to financial planning initiatives and strategic decision-making by providing financial expertise and analysis to support business goals and objectives.
  • Policies and Procedures: Establish clear policies and procedures governing financial activities.
  • Internal Systems Implementation and Improvement: Take an active role in implementing and enhancing internal systems and processes within the finance department. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement, streamline workflows, and optimize efficiency.
  • Service and Support: Service and support employees and other internal and external stakeholders.

Role Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an accounting environment.
  • Certification: Certified Accountant.
  • Proficiency in using modern technologies and applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and spoken English in a professional environment.
  • Strong analytical and data-gathering skills.
  • Ability to work in a progressive and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset, proactivity, and initiative oriented.
  • Risk assessment capabilities.
  • Experience in working in and for international companies.
  • High adaptability, flexibility, and learning appetite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACCA, CPA certifications.
  • Experience in fintech, finance-regulated, IT, and software industries.
  • Good understanding of lending, factoring, invoice discounting and supply chain financing.
