JOB DESCRIPTION
- Execute the Strategic Sourcing Process elements for New Program Introduction (NPI);
- Manage and conduct RFQs for new program components and testing services;
- Negotiate the key sourcing terms (cost with year over year reductions, payment terms, freight terms, MOQ, lead-time, etc) for new suppliers and new components and execute commercial agreements with global suppliers and customer directed by suppliers;
- Complete new supplier and new part number templates for data input into Oracle ERP;
- Issue supplier discrete POs for pre-production and PPAP requirements as well as blanket POs for production requirements;
- Track and report APQP KPIs for New Program milestones, such as RFQ, PPAP and POs;
- Manage and complete the New Program Launch Readiness Checklist to ensure internal and external PO and MRP parameters are established for Planners and Production Buyer;
- Manage the sourcing process for engineering changes;
- Develop, drive and execute cost savings activities for new program components;
- Identify and implement departmental process improvements;
- Manage, nurture and strengthen internal and supplier relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering field;
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant sourcing experience, ideally in the automotive/manufacturing industry, 5+ years of experience preferred;
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems preferred, or SAP;
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint;
- Strong negotiation skills, analytic and problem-solving skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Highly organized person able to manage multiple tasks, projects and initiatives.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery of key supplier deliverables and milestones;
- Familiar with purchase order commercial terms and total cost management concepts.
